#55 Two walkers benighted at Crowden Tower

Two young males had caught the train to Edale and had attempted to walk the loop up Jacob’s Ladder, on to the Downfall and back across the plateau.  All had gone well until they passed Kinder Gates, where they were unable to find the paved path across the plateau, and so ended up slogging across the tops.  It had taken them six hours to get to Crowden Tower and by now it had gone dark.  They weren’t confident of getting down in the dark, so they called us for help.

We deployed with our standard plan for potential hypothermia, where we send two parties to find and assess the missing people and hold a third party at Edale Cross in case a stretcher is needed. 

Fortunately the young men were found quickly and were able to walk back to our vehicles.  They were driven back down to our base in Hayfield, where they were met by their families, who had come to collect them.
