Who we are

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) is a registered charity (no. 1115933) and the data controller for personal data collected through this website. This policy explains what we collect when you visit kmrt.org.uk and how we use it. For anything to do with your data, email contact@kmrt.org.uk.

Essential cookies

The only essential cookie on this site is the sign-in session used by team members in the admin area. It is needed for that sign-in to work and is not used to track visitors. Ordinary visitors are not identified by it.

Analytics (with your consent)

With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. It records the pages you view, how you arrived (for example a search engine or a link from social media), an approximate location worked out from your IP address, and your device and browser type. It sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) containing a random identifier so that return visits can be recognised. It does not tell us who you are.

Google processes this data on our behalf and may transfer it outside the UK under its standard contractual safeguards. Google's own privacy policy applies to that processing. Google keeps detailed event data for two months; aggregated statistics are kept for longer. We do not use analytics data for advertising and do not share it with anyone else.

Our lawful basis for analytics is your consent. When you first visit, a banner asks whether to allow analytics cookies. If you decline, or make no choice, no analytics cookies are set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, after which the banner will ask again.

Donations

Donations are made through JustGiving, whose privacy policy governs the payment. JustGiving shares with us the donor name, amount and message that you chose to make public on your donation, and we display those on our donate page as a thank-you. If you would rather your donation was not shown, donate anonymously on JustGiving or email us and we will remove it.

Contacting us

This site has no contact forms. If you email or message us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to deal with it.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email contact@kmrt.org.uk with any request. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
