What We Do
Hill Rescue
Our most frequent call-out type. We respond to walkers, climbers, and fell runners in difficulty on the moorland and gritstone edges of the Peak District, including Kinder Scout, Bleaklow, and the surrounding hills.
Water Rescue
We are trained and equipped to respond to incidents in and around rivers, reservoirs, and other water bodies across our operating area. This includes search operations along waterways and swift water response.
Rope Rescue
Using specialist rope systems, our team can access difficult terrain to reach casualties on cliff faces, in gorges, or in other locations where conventional access is not possible.
Search
We conduct systematic searches for missing persons across open moorland, woodland, and urban fringes. Our team uses a combination of ground search techniques, drones, and dog teams.
Casualty Care
Our team members are trained to provide casualty care in remote and challenging environments, where help may be some distance away. Many of our team members hold Remote Rescue Medical Technician qualifications, giving the team a strong level of medical capability on the hill.
We can assess and treat a wide range of injuries and medical conditions, provide ongoing care, and support casualties throughout what can sometimes be a lengthy rescue and evacuation.
Vehicle Operations
Our fleet of specialist vehicles allows us to transport personnel and equipment quickly across difficult terrain, including off-road 4x4 vehicles capable of operating in all weather conditions.
