We were called at 12:55 by Derbyshire Police to assist in the search for a vulnerable, missing New Mills resident. Using a pre-arranged plan, we sent a very small number of team members to discretely search for the missing person and we were able to locate her around the caves and cliffs along Cracken Edge, above Chinley. A few team members kept an eye on her from an appropriate distance, whilst we waited for the statutory services to arrive and help her directly. This was a very complex situation which involved representatives from multiple emergency services. The lady was finally able to be recovered to the waiting EMAS ambulance. Our thoughts are with her.
