Kinder Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) has been in existence since 1971, and is one of seven mountain rescue teams that operate within the Peak District National Park, as part of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO).

Our 50 members operate on an purely voluntary basis and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist members of the public on the hill or in urban search and rescue situations.

We are almost exclusively funded by public donations, and all proceeds from fund raising go towards equipment and resources used on our call outs.

22: Callout – Sunday 27th June 2021

We were called at 16:00 to assist a lady with a broken ankle in William Clough on Kinder Scout. We had an accurate location for the casualty, which was was confirmed with our Sarcall PhoneFind system. Our initial response party provided pain relief and splinting of the ankle. Other Kinder parties arrived with the stretcher....

21: Callout – Saturday 26th June 2021

We were called to assist the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) with a lady who had injured her ankle whilst walking on Alderley Edge near The Wizard. 20 – Callout Sat 12th June 2021

We were called at 19:30 to assist a walker suffering chest pain at the top of Ashop Head on the Kinder Plateau. We dispatched a fast response party and then a second, back-up party. Fortunately, Helimed were able to attend and air lifted the casualty direct to hospital before we arrived on scene. Our concern...
