An ex team member called the team direct after coming across a gentleman in a lot of pain with an injured ankle along a path from Sitch Lane in Hayfield. He had called the ambulance, but used his experience to realise that Mountain Rescue would be needed to evacuate the casualty.
By the team we arrived, the ambulance service were in attendance and were able to treat the casualty. We used our stretcher to evacuate him to the waiting ambulance.
