In the early hours of the morning we were asked to help a gentleman who had injured his ankle whilst out for a night run on Kinder. We located him through What3Words and Sacral PhoneFind on the Edge path near to Edale Rocks. Kinder 1 provided treatment by using a vacuum splint to immobilise his ankle. We provided Blizzard jackets to the casualty and his friend to warm them up. Kinder 2 took the heavy kit (stretcher and big casualty bag) to site and Kinder 3 helped with the stretcher evacuation.
We loaded the casualty onto the stretcher and wheeled him to our Landrovers at Edale Cross. He was driven back to base. Because of the very long ambulance delay for this none life threatening injury, we agreed with ambulance control to take the casualty and friend in our Landrover back to their car in Edale with advice to go straight to hospital for evaluation and treatment.
We finished in time for team members to have some breakfast before setting off to work.
