The duty controller called the team out to a to a group of walkers around the Kinder Low area, one reportedly with a leg injury. They group had ascended onto the plateau and walked past the Downfall and had become lost around Kinder Low, one of the party was unable to continue.
The controller had manage to speak with the party and gather some information to allow us to plan a basic search area, we were initially unable to get to phone find due to signal issues. We commenced a basic search area around Kinder Low and eventually managed to get a phone find when a new phone number came through with the controller, this allowed us to pin point their location. Shortly after Kinder 1 were with the casualty party which turned out to be two walkers with a dog, the casualties were assessed and warmed, one required wheeling off on our stretcher.
The casualties were taken to our vehicles at Edale Cross and then down to base for further assessment after some additional warming, some dry clothes and a warm drink they were soon on their way home.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
