Whilst our water team were busy evacuating people from flooded properties around Stockport (which we report separately), we received a call almost identical to the previous day – callout 73 of 2024. A runner with a leg injury in Lyme Park.
We responded with team members and equipment that were not involved in the flood response callout, which made our logistics rather more complicated than usual.
The location of the casualty was unclear – we received multiple possible locations. As we were checking them, we were told that a farmer had found him and driven him to the road, where he was collected by a North West Ambulance Service ambulance.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
