Three young ladies were following a walk around the Kinder edge path from Hayfield. Towards the end of their route they were unable to find their way down and were starting to become very cold. They were unsure of what to do, so they called for help.
On speaking with them, they were very worried about calling for help and were unsure if they would be charged to be rescued.
We sent a couple of parties out to intercept them and make sure they got down safely. They were walked back to our vehicles and give a ride back to their car at Bowden Bridge.
The team is made up of volunteers who have all been novice walkers at some point in our mountain careers. We would prefer to be called out to a simple rescue, than wait until it becomes much more serious and protracted.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
