A lady and her brother were walking on the Kinder southern edges when she aggravated an old injury with her hip. She attempted to carry on for an hour, but by the time she had reached the top of Jacob’s Ladder, she was in too much pain to continue to make her way down.
We can drive our vehicle to Edale Cross, which is only around 500 meters from the location. So we sent a fast party to asses the lady. They quickly realised that she was in too much pain to walk any further, so we followed this up with two further parties along with a stretcher to carry her back to Edale Cross.
It didn’t take long to get her back to the vehicles, so we could drive her back down to our base to be re-united with members of her family who had driven over to meet her.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
