A family of five had set out for a short walk up on to Kinder from Edale. When they reached the top, the weather closed in and they became disoriented. They spent the next few hours trying to find their way back before finally ending up at Kinder Low trig point. They were now very wet and cold and it was getting late. Fortunately they came across a couple of wild campers who let them shelter in their tents while they waited for us to come and get them.
We escorted them back to our vehicles, before driving them back down to our base where they were able to be collected.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
