We were asked by Derbyshire Police to assist with a search for a gentleman who had gone missing from home the evening before. Information led us to do an extensive search of the Mousley Bottom area in New Mills. We did this on foot, by search dog, with water teams and by drone. Derbyshire police also had search teams, dog and drone on the search. After 8 hours searching, we had not found the gentleman. Fortunately, Derbyshire Police located him later that night.
This was a significant search with resources offered and used by all 7 Peak District Mountain Rescue Teams and Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
