The team were tasked by Derbyshire Police to assist an injured 82 year old male in the Broad Clough area of Kinder Scout.
The casualty had been out for a walk and unfortunately slipped and suffered a hip injury and was, the family had tried to help him off the hill but the ground and location and the injury resulting in the casualty being unable to weight bear our help was required.
Four hill parties were deployed to the casualty location, once assessed and package onto our stretcher he was evacuated across some difficult terrain. The route out was far from easy, at points the use of a rope back up system was required alongside some micro navigation and route finding. Once back at our team vehicles the casualty we driven to Kinder Base for further assessment and a warm brew.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
