A group of three walkers became lost on the Kinder Scout Plateau, they had become disorientated when the weather changed and mist had quickly descended limiting their visibility, the group were following the Old Pennie Way track, which is difficult to navigated in clear weather conditions.
Two hill parties were dispatched to their last known location with a third in reserve at Edale Cross, initially we had been unable to contact the group due to poor signal on the plateau, eventually we had confirmation of their locations though phone find technology and we were also able to get through with a phone call.
The two hill parties soon found the group and after a quick assessment they were walked back to Edale Cross and the waiting team vehicles.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
