A pair of ladies were walking in the fields between the bottom of Kinder Low and Tunstead Clough farm. Unfortunately one of the ladies slipped on the wet grass, leaving her with a very painfully fractured ankle. As the injury was too painful for her to move, they called us for help.
We quickly assembled a team at our base and headed out. We were able to drive our vehicles fairly close to the location, so it wasn’t long before we were on scene. After a brief assessment, we provided the lady with some strong analgesia, which allowed us to straighten and splint her injured ankle.
From there we wheeled her down to the road on our stretcher where we were able to hand her over to an ambulance crew for onward transport to hospital.
The team would like to pass on our best wishes to the lady and our thanks to the residents of Tunsted Clough farm for allow us to access the location with our vehicles.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
