Buxton Team were dealing with two simultaneous incidents, so they asked if we could assist them with a stretcher evacuation in the Goyt Valley. A gentleman had badly injured his knee near the shore of Errwood reservoir.
We deployed the team and began to head over. As we were on our way, we received a further call to say that Derbyshire Fire and Rescue had been able to deploy a boat and access his location from the shore of the reservoir. They had brought him back to the RV, so we were no longer needed and were stood down.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
