The team were called out to assist four walkers who had become lost on Kinder Scout. The walkers had driven up from Bristol and were undertaking a route including the old Pennine Way, they became disorientated in the Red Brook area after navigating across the plateau. A couple of the walkers had experienced the difficulties of walking on Kinder and its peat bogs with them sinking waist and thigh deep into the peat resulting in them become very cold and exhausted.
Hill parties were sent to their location which was confirmed using phone find technology, they were soon located and warmed up using the Blizzard Survival Jackets which our parties carry, before being walked back to our team landrovers for the drive back to Kinder Base.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
