A group of five walkers had set off from Edale to complete a walk around the southern edges of Kinder Scout. The weather was poor and the ground on the southern edges is very muddy and heavy at the moment.
As they were walking through the groughs, one of the group started to get cramp in his legs. They attempted to keep walking, but he soon found that both legs were cramping badly and he was unable to continue.
The team despatched a fast party with warming gear to assess the casualty and warm up the rest of the group. We then stretchered the young man back to our vehicles, before driving them back to our base in Hayfield. Finally we were able to get them back to their cars, which were parked in Edale.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
