Half an hour after returning home from the previous callout, the PDMRO duty controller received a call from three people who had planned to camp in the Woolpacks. One of them had been taken ill, so they decided to make their way back down to Edale as quickly as possible. The controller was able to advise them on the best route down. They were sent a PhoneFind link and asked to click it every 30 minutes, so were could track their progress and make sure they were on the correct route. As they were making good progress, it was decided that there was no need to call a team out to assist them. They eventually reached their vehicles in Edale and were able to let the controller know they were safe.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
