A young couple had set off from Edale in beautiful conditions: sunshine, blue skies and snow, for a walk on Kinder Scout. Unfortunately, they were benighted around Crowden Tower. They called the team for help.

We sent two hill parties to their location. After an initial assessment, warm drinks and some food, we were able to walk them off to our Landrovers at Edale Cross. Members of their family met them at our base and took them back to Edale to collect their car.

Our thanks to KMRT team members who were able to attend and especially to our partners who had their Valentine’s evening disrupted.

Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
