The team were called by two young female walkers who had become lost in the low cloud on their walk around Kinder Scout.
The police were able to provide an estimated location from the phone call which placed the girls at Kinder Low trig point. When we spoke to them, they had received some assistance from passing walkers and were making their way down.
As they were on the move, we provided advice on the route down and in a similar method to a recent callout, we sent them a PhoneFind link and asked them to click the link every 30 minutes on the way down. This allowed us to track their progress and make sure they were on the correct route.
After a few phone calls to check in on them, the girls finally were able to let us know they had arrived safely at their vehicle in Edale.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
