We received a call for help from a young man who had arrived in Edale by train and followed a route up to the Kinder Plateau. Poor visibility, strong winds and rain meant he became disoriented, cold and wet.
We were able to contact him by phone, so could establish his position using PhoneFind. Our hill parties made their way to the location and found him near Crowden Tower on the southern edge path. He was cold and wet, but otherwise unharmed. After warming him up, we walked him back down to our vehicles at Edale Cross. We drove him back to our base, where we gave him dry clothing and drove him to Chinley station for a train home.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
