We were contacted by the duty controller to attend a gentleman walking on the top of Kinder Scout who had suffered a medical incident. He had made it as far as Edale Rocks, but was now unable to continue his walk. Once we assessed his condition, we quickly realised he was in severe pain and rapidly getting worse. Due to the severity of the situation we requested support from the Air Ambulance who were quickly on scene to evacuate him to hospital for further investigations.
We would like to thank the two ladies who kindly helped us move some of our equipment down to the helicopter landing site, while we carried the gentleman on the stretcher.
