The team received a call for assistance from a gentleman who was suffering from heat exhaustion. He had been walking on the southern edges of Kinder Scout when he became unwell and was unable to carry on. His location was identified using PhoneFind technology and a fast party was quickly dispatched. Other team members were sent to hold at Edale Cross with the stretcher while a decision was made on the gentleman’s condition. After a quick assessment it was decided that he had recovered enough to walk back to the team vehicles at Edale Cross to be driven back down off the hill. The team were able to provide a particularly speedy response to this incident as we had just finished helping with the marshalling of the May Queen parade in Hayfield, so several team members were already at base.
