Kinder Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) has been in existence since 1971, and is one of seven mountain rescue teams that operate within the Peak District National Park, as part of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO).

Our 50 members operate on an purely voluntary basis and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist members of the public on the hill or in urban search and rescue situations.

We are almost exclusively funded by public donations, and all proceeds from fund raising go towards equipment and resources used on our call outs.

20: Callout – Sunday 12 July 2020

Following our very early morning callout (see callout 19) we were contacted at 15:48 with reports of an injured walker on the southern edge path of Kinder Scout. Following a discussion with our casualty it was clear he couldn’t weight bear and would need stretchering off the hill. Four hill parties were sent to the...

19: Callout – Sunday 12 July 2020

We were called at 3.22am following a 999 call to the police by two distressed females camping somewhere on the top of Kinder Scout. Unable to contact them four rescue teams searched their local car parks for their car. We located this at Bowden Bridge giving us the clue they had ascended the western side...
