We were contacted by the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO) Duty Controller with a request to assist Derbyshire Police with a search for a missing young lady in the New Mills area. We focussed on two areas around the River Goyt and the Sett Valley Trail.
We were supported by colleagues from neighbouring mountain rescue teams within the PDMRO. Buxton Mountain Rescue Team sent their drone team to assist searching the river and Torrs area. Glossop Mountain Rescue Team sent some of their water team members to support our own specialist water team members to search the river. Mountain Rescue Search Dogs England (MRSDE) sent some of their members and specialist search dogs to assist searching areas bordering the river.
We were all very pleased to hear when the young lady was found safe and well by a member of the public.
