A pair of walkers with a dog were following a route which took them up Red Brook on to the Kinder Edge path. They had ended up in the Red Brook gully and reached a point where they couldn’t go up or down. Additional the man had aggravated an existing knee injury, so was struggling to walk.
We deployed Kinder 1 to assess the walkers and their situation while the rest of the team prepared the rope rescue equipment, ready to carry the gear in. However a passing group who we believe were scrambling up Red Brook, came across the stranded walkers. The group had a rope with them and were able to help the walkers on to better ground and then up to the Edge path.
The pair then continued on and were met by Kinder 1 further round the route. As the man was struggling with his knee, he was given some pain relief and they were escorted on an easy route back to Edale Cross where we were able to give them a ride down to their vehicle at Bowden Bridge.
