The team were called by East Midland Ambulance Service (EMAS) to assist a female walker on the Southern Edge Path of Kinder Scout, she had slipped and injured her ankle and was unable to continue on her day out. EMAS control had also despatched the Air Ambulance to the casualty.
Our initial fast response party was quickly deployed from base in a mobile to Edale Cross for a short walk along the Southern Edge Path, The Air Ambulance was just slightly ahead of them and managed to locate and treat the casualty. Upon arriving on scene Kinder 1 was required to aid in carrying the casualty a short distance to the helicopter. The casualty was flown to hospital for further treatment.
The team would like to pass on our best wishes to the lady and hope she has a speedy recovery.
