The team were called to help a lady who had slipped on the narrow path over Cracken Edge. She had taken a significant tumbling fall and was suffering from several painful injuries.
An initial fast party was despatched to assess and treat her immediate injuries. Due to the nature of her injuries, it was decided the best option was to stabilise her in a vacuum matters to allow us to carry her out. Three additional parties were despatched to carry in the stretcher and extra equipment. Once she was safely inside the vacuum mattress she was loaded on to our Mountain Rescue stretcher and wheeled over the rough ground back down to a waiting ambulance.
The team would like to pass on our best wishes to the lady and hope she has a speedy recovery.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
