We were alerted by the PDMRO duty controller that a young man had not returned from a trip on Kinder Scout. He had been planning to wild camp somewhere on Kinder but had not made his usual contact with his friends.
As we had no location or contact with the man it was decided to initialize a full Kinder plan search. This involves teams from Kinder, Edale, Buxton and Glossop searching pre-determined areas of Kinder.
As teams were deploying onto the hill, the Police were able to establish that he had fortunately turned up at home safe and well.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
