The team were tasked by the duty controller to a walker near Swinesback, they set off from Edale with a group of friends ascending Jacob Ladder and heading onto Kinder Scout where the walker started feeling very unwell. The walker and a companion decide to head off the hill however due to nature of their symptoms they called for assistance. They had planned to walked back down Jacobs Ladder but the controller advised heading to Edale cross was a better option, both in term of accesses for the team but also better area for phone signal if further communication was needed.
Two of our mobiles were deployed and were soon at Edale Cross where we our remote rescue medical technicians were able to assess and provide initial treatment, before bringing the casualty off the hill on the mobile to Kinder base, where they were collected.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
