The team were tasked to a pair of walkers who were lost reportedly near Jacobs Ladder, fortunately a large number of the team were at base for our monthly meeting, this meant we were able to quickly deploy three hill parties to Edale Cross to locate the casualty party. We completed some initial search areas, spoke with various groups on the hill but there was no sign of the casualty party
Once all immediate search areas were completed we spoke with the police and the decision was taken to stand as we had no further information to act upon, we had also exhausted phone, messing and phone find options to gain contact. The hill parties were brought back to abase and stood down.
This callout was the first for our current probationer cohort who have been added to the callout list as part of their final phase of training, this is a big step on their development pathway put into practice all they have learnt over the last 6 months
Today we heard from the casualties who reported they were safe and well and had manage to get off the hill.
