The forecast had us wondering whether everyone was about to get a soaking and a sharp shower just after the start didn’t exactly inspire confidence…but after that, the weather played ball. The rain cleared, temperatures stayed cool, there was just enough breeze to keep everyone comfortable, and 196 runners enjoyed some brilliant racing on Cracken Edge.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, whether you were racing for a podium place, representing your club or simply challenging yourself to get round the course; it was great to see so many smiling faces at the finish.
A few highlights from the results
– The first five finishers all represented @PennineFellRunners, an incredible performance from the club.
– Our first female finisher was racing in the F45 category, proving that experience counts for plenty on the hills!
– It was also fantastic to see so many Mountain Rescue runners taking part this year. A bit of friendly rivalry between teams is definitely building…who’s going to take on the challenge next year?
A huge thank you to everyone who made the evening possible:
– The George Hotel for once again hosting the prizegiving.
– Our local landowners, for generously allowing us access across their land.
– Pete Bland Sports for supplying the race numbers.
– And of course, our fantastic volunteers, marshals and organisers, who gave up their evening to make the race happen safely.
Finally, thank you to every runner who entered. By taking part, you’ve helped support Kinder Mountain Rescue Team and our volunteer search and rescue work.
