Not long after setting off to attend the previous incident, we were again contacted by the duty controller to advise of an other incident on Sandy Hayes. A elderly gentleman had slipped while descending the steep section of Sandy Hayes. Although not injured, he was now feeling dizzy and unable to continue. Due to a query over his level of consciousness EMAS decided it would be prudent to despatch an Air Ambulance. Kinder team were requested to attend with an MR stretcher to sledge the casualty down to the location of the helicopter. He was then flown to Hayfield to be met by a Land Ambulance. We would again like to thank Hayfield Football club for allow their pitch to be used to land the Air Ambulance and carry out the transfer to the land ambulance.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
