Two ladies were walking on Kinder Scout. They reached the Downfall and decided to have a look around the area. As they were looking in a cave near the top, one of them banged her head on the roof causing a nasty laceration which was bleeding badly. She began to feel faint and didn’t think she would be able to walk down, so she called for help.
Her initial call routed through to the ambulance service, who were able to carry out a video diagnosis and decided she didn’t have a concussion, so was able to continue walking. As she was still feeling a little unsteady we agreed to meet them on the route off. We met the pair on the Edge path and after a quick check over, we were able to escort them to our Land Rovers and drive them down to Hayfield.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers, who give their time free of charge, and it is funded entirely by public donations.
