The team we called just after 9pm by the Duty Controller tasking us with a missing person on Kinder Scout, initial information was very limited and we were unable to contact the casualty for further information.
The Team Incident Controllers, put a search plan together to cover the likely areas based on the information provided, this included the Southern Edge, Three Knolls and other lower paths. As Kinder 1 were nearing Edale Cross to start their search route we were able to make contact with the casualty.
It transpired that it was not a single missing persons but a DofE group who had come into some difficultly and required assistance, however they had managed to make contact with staff from the school and were making their way safely off the hill.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
