Just before midnight we were asked to help two young men who had got into difficulty whilst climbing Cowden Clough. We had a What 3 Words location, which was accurate and so were able to send two hill parties directly to the casualty site.
After assessment by one of our team doctors, we were able to walk the casualties to Edale Cross and drive them back to base. They were re-united with their grateful family at around 04:30 in the morning.
Team members returned home for a short nap and breakfast before setting off for work. In the last seven days the team has attended three callouts taking a total of 14.5 hours. This is in addition to attending training, business meetings and background tasks to keep the team running smoothly.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
