Shortly after 11am just five hours after finishing callout 45 we were contacted by Northwest Ambulance Service (NWAS), asking us to assist with a cyclist who had been riding along the Middlewood Way in Marple and fallen of his bike and was unable to walk..
One of the team Doctors was on scene within 20 minutes, with other team members arriving at the RV point shortly after, as the casualty’s injuries were unclear until our arrival on site no Ambulance had been allocated to the callout. Following assessments by our Doctor were were able to provide NWAS with an update of a suspected fracture to his leg, following this update an Ambulance was allocated and was quickly on scene.
Working alongside the Ambulance crew we were able to package the casualty up and get him into the Ambulance for onward travel to A&E. With a final task of returning the casualties bike back to his house completed the team were stood down.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
