The team received a call from the Duty Controller just after 23:45, Derbyshire Police had a had call from three walkers who had walked up Kinder and become benighted, it was reported that one member of the casualty party was suffering from an ankle injury.
We had been provided with an approximate location on Kinder Edge path close to Ashop Head, Kinder 1 were deployed as a fast response party heading up Sandy Heys, with Kinder 2 & 3 tasked with taking the rescue stretcher package and some other equipment via Mill Hill, to the Ashop Head steps.
Kinder 1 located the casualty party and after a initial assessment confirmed all three casualties would be able to walk off the hill. They were soon on their way down Ashop Head and then onto Monks Road where our team vehicles were located.
After repacking vehicles and completed the required admin team were stood down at 03:31.
Kinder Mountain Rescue Team is staffed by volunteers who give their time free of charge and is funded entirely by public donations.
