Kinder Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) has been in existence since 1971, and is one of seven mountain rescue teams that operate within the Peak District National Park, as part of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO).

Our 50 members operate on an purely voluntary basis and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist members of the public on the hill or in urban search and rescue situations.

We are almost exclusively funded by public donations, and all proceeds from fund raising go towards equipment and resources used on our call outs.

We were called at 11:45 to assist a lady with an ankle injury at Peter Nook Wood, just above Kinder Reservoir. We were able to drive through Upper House and a short walk took us to the casualty. We provided splinting and pain relief before carrying the casualty on our stretcher back to our Landrovers....

34: CALLOUT – FRIDAY 15TH OCTOBER 2021

We were called at 13:15 to a lady with a lower leg injury near the top of Sandy Heys on Kinder Scout.  As this was a mid-week call, the number of available team members was low, so we requested assistance from our colleagues in Glossop Mountain Rescue Team, who provided some additional team members to...
