Kinder Mountain Rescue Team (KMRT) has been in existence since 1971, and is one of seven mountain rescue teams that operate within the Peak District National Park, as part of the Peak District Mountain Rescue Organisation (PDMRO).

Our 50 members operate on an purely voluntary basis and are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist members of the public on the hill or in urban search and rescue situations.

We are almost exclusively funded by public donations, and all proceeds from fund raising go towards equipment and resources used on our call outs.

10:  CALLOUT – Thursday 29th February 2024

We received a call from EMAS ambulance control to help with a casualty near the top of Crowden Clough.  A group of walkers had come across a man who had slipped and injured himself while ascending the clough.  As this was a midweek call, our team was very low on numbers, so we asked for...

9: CALLOUT – Sunday 28TH JANUARY 2024

Not long after packing away the equipment from the previous callout we received a call for assistance from Glossop MRT.  They were dealing with a casualty who had fallen in to Torside Clough and sustained serious injuries.  A Coastguard helicopter had arrived at site but was unable to winch the casualty out due to the...
